BON – uThando (Love To the World) Album

“Beautiful music for beautiful people.” That was how South African singer BON announced her afro-pop album uThando (Love To The World).” One can’t begrudge her faith in the verdict because the project is actually beautiful.

The project bears 25 songs and begins on a “Bantu” note and includes songs like “Teach Me,” “Down For You,” “Shona Malanga,” “Ubomi,” “Carolina,” “Weekend Special,” “Imali,” “Realize,” “Ndaba,” “Tell Me” and “uThando Lwami.”

With only two guests on the project, it becomes apparent that BON wanted to go her own way – do things as she pleases, without many voices intruding.

Still, about that decision, there’s not much to quarrel with. BON was still a voice to behold as she spat her bars, and she did beautifully with the two musicians she elected to work with.

“uThando (Love To The World)” is currently trending on Mzansi Twitter. However, the reality is that the album hasn’t just been released. It’s been around since November last year. It just so happens that the album is growing on people right now, and they are talking about it, bringing it out of the dust of transience.

Call it magic or whatever. We’re sure you’d still love the album. So go ahead and have a blast.
