The Kunye series is the disc jockey and producer Shimza’s response to the Balcony Mix of the Mbere brothers (Major League DJz). Where the Balcony Mix symbolizes amapiano music, the Kunye Live Mix symbolizes afro-tech.
The Kunye series has given birth to a couple of live mixes already, including one by Zakes Bantwini. The latest mix is as potent as any released in the series so far. The choice of Da Capo is something to applaud.
For one, Da Capois one of the finest hands on the afro-tech decks and one of our favorites, too. Other artists on the current mix are just as good and mutually complementary.
