De Mthuda returns with yet another winning number. This one is titled “Inkomo Zam” and features Nomfundo Moh and Sipho Magudulela.
Compared to the lead singer, the two guests have barely bleeped on our radar, but clearly, they have got what it takes to make an audience pause and just listen to them.
If you have reservations about this statement, you may want to just listen to what they have created in collaboration with De Mthuda – a song of great emotional energy and appeal.
It’s hard to listen to this song and not nod to the creative powers behind it… and not desire the artistes link up again. After all, one good bop merits another.
By the way, “Inkomo Zam” is taken from De Mthuda’s “The Landlord” album, a body of work he released after a string of collaborations with fellow piano ace Ntokzin. And yes, the song is easy to favorite from De Mthuda’s latest drop.
The world of piano music is a very competitive one and remains the most vibrant, with daily releases. De Mthuda’s voice remains distinct from that cacophony (wrong word alert!). Anyway, it’s time to vibe with one of the totems of his merit in the world of amapiano.
