Easily the most popular artiste from Tanzania, Diamond Platnumz instantly snaps attention with whatever he releases. In fact, at this point in his career, his songs average 1 million views within 48 hours of release on YouTube.
Te Boy From Tandale has come a long way. From vanishing from home to play music, he has become the leading music figure in his native Tanzania. And despite the fierce competition, he remains “Baba Lao.”
One can only nod at the choice of Rema for “Gimmie.” The Nigeria songster, who is part of Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records, is buzzing like the songster he worked with on the song in review.
Rema of the “Woman” fame has a way of igniting stages with his presence. He brings that energy in his collaborative song with Diamond. It’s hard to tell why the two artistes decided to work together. It is even harder to ignore the song they have released.
Well, because the two are just so good together, we think they owe us another jam. First off, they gotta release the music video for “Gimmie.” We think it’s long overdue.
