“East and West” is a 5-track project of great symbolism. The two artistes on the song are from the East and the West or rather Mid-West of Nigeria. Dremo, whose birth name is Aboriomoh Femi Raymond, is from Edo State, and Jeriq (Ani Jeremiah Chukwuebuka) is from the eastern part of Nigeria.
Here, though, they make a fine team, each artiste spitting his bars in his native language – Dremo in Yoruba and Jeriq in Igbo. Different though the languages might be, the two artists blended beautifully.
The result? An appetizing lyrical stew that you should be pleased to check out. The pair didn’t bother to adopt a guest. And that’s just as well. A guest artiste would most likely have diluted the potency of the project.
Several producers contributed to the making of this body of work, including BenJamz and Fresh VDM.
