Tanzanian singer and Konde Music Worldwide signee Ibraah unleashes a number dubbed “Mama Samia,” in the spirit of celebrating Samia Suluhu Hassan, the sixth president of Tanzania.
Samia Suluhu Hassan had been sworn in following the sudden death of President John Pombe Magufuli. Her swearing in made her her first female president of the East African country, and the nation has been celebrating her coming since.
Several other artistes – mostly from the rival WCB Wasafi record label – had celebrated Samia Suluhu Hassan earlier. Ibraah joins the celebration train with a song that is at once moving and relatable.
“Mama Samia” drops just in time. Hopefully the song achieves its purpose, which is to rally support for Tanzania’s first female president and make her best the legacies of her predecessors.
Ibraah is the first artiste signed to Harmonize’s Konde Music Worldwide. He has released several numbers since his signing, and stamped his name in the consciousness of the music-loving public. Among his notable songs are “Nimpende” and “Nitachelewa.”
