Sjava affirms his position as one of South Africa’s major trap voices in a new track titled “Ikusasa,” which you can stream here on UbeToo.
“Ikusasa” is not a solo drop but one of the songs in the songster’s “Umsebenzi” EP. In that body of work, Sjava explored the sounds and sights of home in beautiful ways that will engage just about any audience.
Of all the tracks in that compilation, “Ikusasa” is one of the easy favourites, a song with so much soulful energy it draws you into it orbit again and again. Not bad, really.
One may as well think the song one of the celebratory bells for the songster. Sjava’s ex girlfriend had filed a a case of rape against him but the Nationa Prosecuting Authority (NPA) of South Africa had dismissed the case.
Mixed reactions had trailed the dismissal of the case. Sjava could not be happier, his claims of innocence having finally received a semblance of legal backing. “Ikusasa” is Sjava taking a chill from the world of petty annoyances.
