Zimbabwean musician Jah Prayzah finally drops his “Gwara” album after briefly letting fans know it was on the way.
Looking back, one might say the songster has not wasted the time of those who had looked forward with fevered expectancy to “Gwara.” You may think of this body of work as an energy pack – a compilation that empowers our spirit to experience new orbits of triumph. You should love it.
By the way, the title of the album easily brings to mind the “Gwara Gwara” dance moves of South Africa’s DJ Bongz. Here, though, you’ll be looking at two ends of two markedly different experiences.
Known for several fine numbers, including “Chikomo,” Jah Prayzah once again asserts his position as one of the important voices in Zimbabwean music. The force and appeal “Gwara” album are testament’s his creative powers yet.
