The Pop album holds some of his best works including big tunes such as Yima, Amandla Ngawakho, Hlisa Umoya, and Ithemba. Well, the album is not exactly composed of new songs rather its an official recompilation of his best works.
The 56-year-old songwriter has been in South Africa’s entertainment scene for over two decades, nurturing very many musicians in Cape Town. Other than being a musician, Ringo Madlingozi also happens to be a politician. He won a member of parliament seat back in 2019.
The Jayiva Sbali Album is one compilation that takes us down memory lane, with most of the songs in the album having been released back in 2010. The Sondela hitmaker is also the brainchild of other mega albums such as his 2005 Album labeled “New Beginnings” as well as his 2015 debut, Live 2.
Ringo’s journey as a musician is one that has been full of challenges although his resilience has helped him remain relevant in the game. The lawmaker was born in Peddie, Eastern Cape. It is after meeting renowned Island Records producer, Chris Blackwell, that his music career kickstarted.
The pop singer first came to the limelight when he was a member of the Peto Band in 1986. Peto won the Shell Road to Fame competition after which the band split. Later on, Madlingozi formed his own music group known as Gecko Moon, alongside former Peto band member, Alan Cameron.
