The Scorpion Kings of South African music Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa present a song titled “Stimela” in collaboration with their compatriot Tresor. It is a meeting of champions, and the outcome is worth interrogating.
Although we don’t count this as the first collaborate single among them, we readily admit it is one of their songs that will capture attention any day. It isn’t often that you have the troika on a number.
When they come together, expect something markedly charming. Like now. Called the King of Amapiano music because of his contributions to the evolution and national visibility of the genre, which some have described as nonpareil, Kabza De Small exemplifies dedication.
The same – speaking of dedication to music – might be said of DJ Maphorisa, a notable disc jockey and producer with whom he has struck an incredibly productive partnership. The pair has released a couple of platinum-selling projects.
