Every time Marcus Harvey announces a new project, there is no doubt that he aims to make an impression with it. Everyone who heard his previous one was quite impressed with it.
In case you didn’t, he dropped the EP titled “You Don’t Know Me Yet” mid last year. The project basically introduced him in the best ways to his growing fan base. Now, he’s back to the scene with a brand new follow-up to the EP.
He titles this one “You Still Don’t Know Me”. The new EP houses a total of 5 tracks. On it, he enlists the talents of Don Marco and Khan Khalii to feature. Editor’s Note
The first three songs on the rising South African soul singer’s second offering tell a heartwarming love story. It starts with love at first sight, according to “The First Time I Saw You”, while on “You Wouldn’t Understand”, Marcus Harvey fully commits to his woman, singing, “I know love is dangerous, but I’m willing to risk it all for you.” Later, Khan Khalii plays Harvey’s lover on “Reflection”, attesting to their beautiful union over the soothing lo-fi production that dominates the EP.
The last two songs ground this fairy tale as Harvey shares vignettes of his life in Alexandra on “Chilling in Alex” and “Don’t Think About It Too Much”, singing in the latter, “Don’t think about it too much/Roll a doobie and hit two puffs/Got my n***as in the backseat/We just chilling in a taxi.”
