When a label boss links up with his signee, the result is almost always magical. And that’s our experience with Mduduzi’s “Lonke” song featuring Big Zulu, who runs Inkabi records to which Mduduzi is signed.
The two have worked together previously. Their return to the studio has spawned another interesting number that you should be chuffed to check out.
“Lonke” is part of “Istimela,” Mduduzi’s debut project on Inkabi Records. This body of work houses 15 songs in all, with “Lonke” occuping the 5th position on the tracklist.
The “Lonke” tune also happens to be one of the finest in the compilation. In fact, we count it among our top five. The reasons for this are many and should be apparent presently.
Listening to Mduduzi and Big Zulu together is like experiencing a dream – a good dream. You want to experience more of it and might even find yourself in a magnanimous mood, wanting others to experience the same. Quite good, we should say.
