Mr JazziQ and his pal Busta 929 link up for a song titled “Good Guy,” featuring associates Masterpiece YVK, Reece Madlisa, Lady Du & Mpura.
The guest list might appear long, but then the artistes did a great job together. A lot comes to mind seeing Mpura’s name on the list of guests. One is that the song was probably recorded before Mpura’s death months ago.
Mpura had died alongside five others in a car accident while heading to a gig. Interestingly, in one of the episodes of his Everything South African Music (ESAM), podcast host Rea Gopane had claimed that Mr. JazziQ was responsible for the deaths of Mpura as well as Killer Kau (the other artiste who died in the crash).
With this background, you might be wondering if this song relates to the deaths of Mpura and Killer Kau and Rea Gopane’s audacious statement. Well, we would rather leave that for you to find out.
We can only volunteer that “Good Guy” – which you may as well call “Good Guy” without qualms – is a song worth hearing and sharing, too. So go ahead and make a place for it on your playlist. Let the music begin if you please.
