One interesting number you might want to check out from the recently released “The Gift Of Love” album, by South Africa’s Q Twins, is titled “Vuma” and features Claudio & Kenza.
It’s a meeting of fine voices and also fine record labels in South African music. The lead artistes, Q Twins, are signed to DJ Tira’s Afrotainment record label, and the guests, Claudio & Kenza, are signed to Sun-El Musician’s El World Music record label.
It’s a two-two affair, in a sense. Q Twins are inseparable. The “Hamba” singers left the Idols South Africa competition after one of them (Virginia) was eliminated from the reality television show. Viggy wouldn’t continue without her sister.
On their part, Claudio and Kenza are inseparable collaborators who have worked on several songs previous, including the Mpumi-assisted “Yasha Imizi.” They have also worked with some of the music industry’s major names, including their label boss.
Hints of a collaboration between Q Twins and Claudio& Kenza materialized as early as February this year following the meeting of the heads of the recrd labels mentioned earlier in the company of Q Twins.
