SPHEctacula & DJ Naves feature Thebe and Unathi in a new song.

Talented music duo, SPHEctacula, and DJ Naves have released their highly-anticipated afro house debut single titled, ‘Okokoko.’ The song featured Thebe and Unathi.

The 2020 debut single of the music duo is an outstanding song that will definitely become your favourite.

Popularly known as The Kings Of The Weekend, SPHEctacula and DJ Naves are not just talented musicians who are making an impact in the music scene, they are also prominent names on the radio. This proves that they are prominent figures in the South African entertainment industry.

After leaving the station back in 2017, the Kings Of The Weekend recently returned to host the afternoon drive slot, with OAP, Relebogile Mabotja.

SPHEctacula and DJ Naves are names that come to one’s mind when reflecting over the growth of the music scene in Mzansi. The duo is well known for its famous songs, including ‘Ngeke’,’ which features Leehleza and Beast and Hope, ‘Crazy,’ featuring Nadia Nakai, Floda and DJ Tira, ‘Bhampa’ which features Beast, DJ Tira, and Tip Cee, and so on.

SPHEctacula and DJ Naves do not release their records at short intervals. They spend time to make sure that they release remarkable songs that that follows the trend and one that fans can easily relate to, Okokoko has been four years in the making. Thebe who worked on the arrangement, instrumental and sound engineering while sharing his experience on the song, he said:

I have been hounding these guys about this song for like three years like where is the song…I am so excited about this release, it is something different, is not what’s trending right now, we are doing what I am known for, you know? My kind of sound, that’s what I am excited about, more than anything.

Nominated for the South African Music Award for Best Remix of the Year, the talented musicians are notable for their hit songs that it is certain that ‘Okokoko’ will be a name that will reign in the hearts of music lovers.

Talking about “Okokoko” and her experience working with the duo DJs, Uthani said:

Okokoko is a quintessential classic dance song, that is reminiscent of the 90s but it’s futuristic, it speaks to the sound of South Africa, the dance capital of the world. Truly honored to work with them, truly honored to work with the kings of the weekend, brothers that i have loved for many many years, over decades, the song has been in the making for 4 years, finally we get to share it with the world.
