Afro-tech associates Sun El Musician, Culoe De Song, and Shimza deliver a new episode of the Kunye mixes, titled “Kunye Live Mix.”
“Kunye Live Mix” is a new imitative to reignite the fires of South Africa’s afro-tech space. The inspiration for the project is most likely the “Amapiano Balcony Mix” of the twin brothers Bandile and Banele Mbere (Major League DJz).
But unlike Major League when they started out, “Kunye Live Mix” has not faced criticisms of infelicitous imitation. Now that’s some credit to the musicians handling the Kunye sessions. Darque, Da Capo, and Zakes Bantwini are among those who have had sessions so far.
Sun El Musician, Culoe De Song, and Shimza continue the Kunye message with their live mix, which is as exciting as can be. So if you’re into afro-tech music or are just a lover of good music generally, you should love what these pals have composed
