It’s new music Friday for South African producer T-Man SA. He promised, and he delivered. “Shikisha” is something out of his kitty, a song featuring compatriots Lady Du, Bassie and Bibo. It’s a local coming together of champs.
If you think that is a complaint, then you’re off the mark. It isn’t. We actually love the number, which has that understated elegance and charm one has come to expect from T-Man.
Working with Lady Du, Bassie and Bibo was a big win for the song and the lead artist. First off, the collaborative synergy among them is enough to provoke a smile from anyone who’s paying attention at all.
In fact, on the strength of this song, it’s hard not to want to wish the musicians to link up again — after all, one splendid jam merits another. Well, until that happens, you’re better off helping yourself to a glass of “Shikisha.” Come on!
