07 September 2021. Johannesburg, South Africa – Still basking on his recent success on Drake’s Certified Lover Boy album, Tresor takes the frontline with his new song titled Makosa. The new Amapiano tune features the Scorpion Kings, Kabza De Small and Dj Maphorisa.
The trio released a joint project earlier this year in April; the project, titled Rumble in the Jungle, consists of songs like Funu, Folashade and many more smash hits. For those that do not know. Tresor is originally from Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. He has made a name for himself in the African music scene as a multi-award winning, platinum-selling singer, songwriter and music producer. He is the co-founder of the Durban afro-fusion collection Maisha.
Tresor’s unique voice and ability to deliver on a diverse genre of music distinguishes him from other artists. Right from the beginning of the song, you can already tell that he is the one singing with closed eyes. He has released the song because he is travelling to Kenya and Tanzania this week and had to make sure he drops something in Swahili that will resonate with the people in that region of Africa.
Makosa is an Amapiano jam, and it stands out by far. Tresor delivers his unique vocal while DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small do their thing on the instrumentals as usual.
