Usher’s brand new music video for “I Cry” will bring out your deepest emotions.
Sometimes, when words aren’t enough to speak, music goes the extra mile. Thanks to Usher for understanding that. Last month, the “Climax” hit maker dropped a new song “I Cry” inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement. He revealed that the proceeds from the song will go to the Local Initiatives Support Corporation.
It is a non-profit that supports communities of color in the US. He has now released a self-directed music video for the song. The recently released video features the R&B star singing over a piano as photos by the late Gordon Parks flash across the screen.
He revealed on Instagram that the video is “in honor of the courage and bravery of the activists and organizations who are demanding a change to broken systems rooted in hundreds of years of racism“. In the post, he also credited humanitarian and black artist, Gordon Parks for the photographs featured in the video.
