South African disc jockey and producer Visca has been through thick and thin — or so he says in a new body of work from which is taken the song “Stop It,” featuring Kabza De Small.
The song brings together two local producers who can actually hold their own anywhere. And they put up such a stunning performance that one can only applaud their musical outing.
A maestro of the decks and turntables, DJ Visca was previously well known as a collaborator with DJ Catzico. The duo had put out several winning tunes. At the moment, though, they appear to be on a solo course and winning anyway.
A disc jockey and producer himself, Kabza De Small is considered the king of amapiano music, thanks in part to his consistency and his contributions to the genre. He’d started making piano music when people were afraid to do so — or has given a timeline for the genre to disappear.
In the intervening years, he’d built such an impressive body of work that you’d have difficulty finding someone else with a similar oeuvre.
Anyway, here is a lyrical winner that brings together elements of house and amapiano music for the listening pleasure of all.
