ASUS Announces Three New Netbooks At CeBIT

In a recent announcement in Germany’s CeBIT conference, ASUS announced its three newest Eee PC products: the Eee Keyboard PC, Eee PC T91, and Eee PC 1008HA. They’re confident that their new products will please consumers who “accept no compromise when it comes to exquisite taste in high fashion.” Sounds snazzy. The Eee Keyboard PC, which we’ve seen hints of before, purports to offer the functionality of a desktop in a miniscule form. And ASUS isn’t the only one who thinks it’s exquisite – the Keyboard PC won the first prize in CeBIT’s PreView Awards. The new ASUS device makes use of Ultra Wide Band Wireless connectivity to link to TVs and computer monitors, and offers a futuristic 5-inch ‘touch panel’ for control of the screen cursor. The whole concept is screaming ‘multitouch’, so I think we can expect that on the Eee Keyboard PC as well.Other features include WLAN 802.11n network connectivity, a hi-quality speaker/microphone combo, Bluetooth 2.0, and a few USB ports. The Eee PC T91 is the latest in a series of adaptable swivel-screen tablet netbooks on the market. It looks really cool, packing a 1024×600 pixel 8.9-inch screen and running the Intel Z520 Silverthorne Atom chipset with a standard 32 GB SSD. ASUS is also offering a “Disk Expander” memory card slot if you want to expand storage. The TouchSuite software coming with the T91 uses multitouch for programs like FotoFun, where you can organize, edit, and flip through images using the touchscreen. Bonus features include built-in GPS, a TV tuner, Bluetooth, and 3G. We’re expecting a cost around $500 for the Eee PC T91.The third netbook is the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA, which comes in at one inch thick and a mere 1.1 kg. One particular highlighted by ASUS is Eee Docking, an application bar that allows you to access a suite of software with a single click. Included in the suite is Eee Sharing, which can sync the 1008HA with other Eee PCs or computers to share info, even without access to the internet.Other features include a keyboard at 92% standard size, instant Wi-Fi, a microphone, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, WiMAX, and802.11b/g/n.Via EWeek.
