Kingston has launched the world’s first 256 GB USB flash drive. Christened the Kingston Technology DataTraveler 300, the drive will feature fast transfer speeds and password protection for data.
It will be attractive to netbook users, for whom mobility is important. Most flash drives have far less capacity, but the Kingston DataTraveler can carry “over 51,000 images or a paper tower 1346 meters tall,” according to Kingston officials.
With mobility comes an increased chance of misplacing your data, so Kingston’s Password Traveler software allows buyers to protect their data in the event that they lose their drive.
