About Powerball South Africa

Lottery games come in many hues, so if you are into them you have a basket of options. Powerball is one lottery game that might interest you. It has another version called Powerball plus, which we shall speak about in another post.

How To Play Powerball

Like other lottery games managed by National Lottery South Africa, powerball is easy to play and just about anyone out there can play it, educated or not.

If you are feeling somewhat lethargic, you can go for the “quick pick” option. Here the lottery system randomly selects 6 lucky numbers for you. “Lucky” is just that – a word. It in no way means you will go home with the jackpot at the end of the day. But you have a chance.

You can also test your lucky personally. Just get a powerball betslip and select five numbers from 1 to 50 and one number from 1 to 20 using a pencil or biro. Write your name at the back of the slip. (Very important).

You can then head to an approved lottery retailer with your slip and pay for the bet you want to make. After making your payment, the lottery retailer will give you a receipt showing all the numbers you selected

The next step is to watch out for the draws. Draws are shown every Tuesdays and Fridays on Mzansi Magic (Channel 161) and  NewzRoom Afrika (Channel 405).

A single powerball play cost jus R5, including value added tax (VAT).
