Mzansi actors Kyle Clark and Ray Neo Buso, known for playing an on-screen couple on the hit show, ‘7de Laan,’ reportedly invited their real-life moms to witness their wedding while filming the show. According to a report by The South African, their real parents represented their characters Zee Guliwe and Dr Sudesh Reddy’s parents on the show.
On Thursday, 23 November, the canceled show, which airs on SABC2, showed the first same-sex wedding in the history of the show. Taking to his Facebook page, Kyle Clark, who plays Dr Sudesh Reddy, revealed that they made history. He also thanked fans and viewers for the opportunity for him and his costar, Ray Neo Buso, to be themselves and for accepting them into their homes.
He wrote, “Last night, we made history as the first same sex Marriage on 7DeLaan. This turned out to be bigger than our wildest dreams. Having Ray standing across from me as we both witnessed the space our LGBTQIA+ community has grown from, was pure magic! Our time is now and it’s long overdue.”
The show announced on social media that the actors invited their real life parents to be on the show.
