South Africa is in mourning following the passing of veteran actor Patrick Ndlovu at the age of 85. The news of his death was confirmed by his agency, Moonyeenn Lee Associates (MLA SA), who described him as a “consummate professional and majestic talent.”

Ndlovu’s career spanned more than four decades, during which he became a household name in the South African television industry. He was best known for his roles as Sizwe Moloi in the SABC1 drama series ‘Zone 14’ and as school principal, Mr. Thembu, in the popular TV series ‘Yizo Yizo.’ His recent stint on etv’s ‘Durban Gen’ saw him dubbed as the meme king after images of his character were shared online.

The details surrounding his death remain unclear, but tributes from fans and industry professionals have been pouring in online, honoring the actor’s character and legacy. Thabang Moleya, who directed Ndlovu on ‘Zone 14,’ remembered him as a gentle and kind individual who was always encouraging.

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC1) also paid tribute to the actor, stating, “We will remember him fondly for his starring roles on our dramas ‘Yizo Yizo’ and ‘Zone 14’.”
