A-Reece has a crown for his compatriots and fellow musicians Emtee, Wordz, DJ Maphorisa and PH, but it’s not a crown they would love to wear – not publicly anyway.
In a recent tweet, The Boy Doing Things had shouted out the smoking sinews of the musicians mentioned earlier, noting that peeps haven’t really smoked until they’d done that with the musos.
A-Reece himself is a chain smoker. Maybe he should be somewhere on the list, too? At least he’d implied that he’d smoked with them – or seen them smoke.
Well, his tweet generated a serious conversation online, with many asking where he belongs on the list he shared.
Interestingly, just days ago, controversy had erupted online after the Slimes – as A-Reece’s fans are known collectively – had noted that their hero is the only South African rapper who had stayed at top after leaving a record label. They compared him with Emtee, staring the Emtee Records boss hasn’t accomplished as much after leaving Ambitiouz Entertainment.
Emtee had given the ginger to those making the comparison. He and A-Reece were adversaries at some point. But it appears like they are cool now. And that’s good for the culture – so fans are saying.
