South Africa-born comedian Trevor Noah continues his winning streak with two recent Emmy nominations. The nominee list for the award was released two days ago but the award itself will hold later this September.
The funnyman’s Netflix comedy special, I Wish You Would, was nominated for the Outstanding Variety Special. The Daily Show, a platform he left recently, also earned three Emmy nominations. The importance of the nominations wasn’t lost on Noah, who took to Twitter to celebrate them.
About his personal nomination for the Emmy Awards, he appeared somewhat stunned, noting it was “mind-blowing” to have been nominated alongside the likes of Cardi and Lizzo. He ended the tweet by thanking those who watched and those who voted. You can check it out below.
On The Daily Show Snagging three nominations, Noah was just as pleased. He celebrated the milestone as well while shouting out those who made it possible, including everyone behind the scenes. His tweet follows.
Wow! This is always so surreal. 3 Emmy noms for @thedailyshow 😱 Thank you to @TelevisionAcad for the honour once again! 🙏🏾 And of course congrats to everyone behind the scenes at @thedailyshow! Chris McCarthy, and the entire Paramount family! Thank you! https://t.co/iGRFzZiIBY

With three nominations, The Daily Show’s chances of winning are pretty bright. But there is no assurance it will win an Emmy Award when the award ceremony holds on September 18 this year. Still, of course, there is something to celebrate for Trevor Noah and the blokes at The Daily Show.
