No one wishes to die brutally, but sometimes, as the saying goes, life happens and people leave the material plane violently. That was the morbid reality recently for the partner of the actor Gregg Pettigrew. The actor had reportedly killed his gay partner and then attempted suicide via overdose to escape the snarls of the law.
But death wasn’t ready to take him yet, as he was picked from his home, where he had murdered his partner, drowsy from a drug overdose. He was taken to the hospital and placed under watch even as the medical staff tried to counteract his overdose.
Multiple reports indicate that Greg, 51, had shot and killed his 29-year-old partner at a rented cottage in Kempton Park, Gauteng. Thereafter, he had taken the easy route out – overdosing on drugs to, apparently, die as well.
The police that popped into Kempton Park, Gauteng, after the incident, confirmed the shooting, as well as the actor being taken to the hospital under close watch.
On Monday, 17 April, the actor will appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court to face charges of murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The police had initially declined to name the actor in its preliminary statement, but the information blew up anyway.
