Actor Lance Reddick Of The “John Wick” Fame Dead At 60

Actor Lance Reddick, best known for his roles in the HBO police drama The Wire and the John Wick action movies, has died at the age of 60. His representative Mia Hansen confirmed the news of the actor’s passing, attributing it to natural causes.

Reddick died “suddenly” Friday morning, according to a statement from his publicist. No further details were provided.

Wendell Pierce, Reddick’s co-star on The Wire, paid tribute to him on Twitter. “A man of great strength and grace,” he wrote. “As talented a musician as he was an actor.”

Reddick was born in Baltimore, Maryland and began his career in the theatre. He made his television debut in the late 90s, appearing in shows such as Oz, Law & Order, and The Practice. He was best known for his role as Cedric Daniels in The Wire, and for his work in the John Wick franchise.

His other film credits include White House Down, 13 Hours, and The Guest. He also appeared in the Amazon series Bosch and the Apple TV+ series For All Mankind.

Reddick is survived by his wife, actress and producer Christine Adams.

The news of his death has been greeted with incredulity from sections of social media, with tweeps commenting that he should have died hereafter – a testament to his contributions to the world of film.
