Actress Kim Engelbrecht Clinches Emmy Nomination

To win, to win, and not to fail. That’s the goal for many when they venture into any endeavour. But, of course, not everyone gets to achieve everything they have their eyes on.

Well, while an International Emmy might not have been the goal for South African actress Kim Engelbrecht, she has actually been nominated for one. And, of course, she couldn’t be happier.

Kim was nominated in the Best Performance by an Actress category for her role in the local drama, Reyka. Others nominated in the same category are Lou De Laâge of France, Leticia Colin of Brazil, and Celine Buckens of the United Kingdom.

Interestingly, Reyka is also nominated for an Emmy in the Best Drama Series category. With this nomination, it will be competing against other equally memorable flicks like Lupin, Narcos: Mexico, and Vigil.

Reyka is an eponymous flick played by no other than Kim Engelbrecht (Reyka Gamma), a criminal profiler haunted by her past. A win for the actress would be an enormous career boost, but it wouldn’t be her first award.

The actress recently won the SAFTAS in the Best Actress – TV Drama category for her role in the same Reyka – a testament to the sheer appeal of the drama.
