Would the complaints ever end over DStv and its subscription model? Maybe not, recent social media data suggests.
Not long ago, the network announced it was increasing prices for its subscriptions, a decision widely rejected by subscribers, who accused the network of doing everything to frustrate subscribers.
One aggrieved fan described the network as now so totally boring that she wouldn’t ever have DStv in her house again.
Another, a football fanatic, claimed that DStv put all football broadcasting channels on expensive packages so that football lovers can suffer.
And yet another complained that DStv was arbitrarily reducing channels while at the same time increasing the subscription fees.
One subscriber wouldn’t be bothered to get into more details. He simply described the network as an ass. You can check out some of the comments below.
By the way, the complaints actually transcend South Africa. In Nigeria, the cries are similar. In fact, when DStv increased its subscription rates, the government had intervened immediately, urging the company to revert to its former rates while an investigation is carried out.
According to some critics of the DStv network, the company is shelling subscribers only because there is no serious competition against the network.
