There is great excitement ahead of Durban July, a music festival that brings together South Africans from all walks of life, including DJ Tira, the owner of the Afrotainment record label.
The muso was in New York recently and was excited to meet with his compatriots, including fellow musician and podcast host, MacG, and media personality Dineo Ranaka.
Taking to Instagram after the encounter, he shared a picture of himself and his associate as they walked down the streets of New York. In the caption to the post, he dropped a few words about having a good time in New York ahead of Durban July. You can check out his post below.
The Durban July music festival will hold as scheduled except something should go terribly wrong. The has been a mix of opinions over the event, with some tweeps, including the controversial culture critic NOTA Baloyi, calling for its cancellation. He hinged his call on the assassination of rapper AKA on February 10 this year.
The songster had been killed alongside his former manager Tebello as they stepped out of Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban. His killers are yet to be found.
Well, Tira and co had a wonderful time in New York and are looking forward to Fact Durban Rocks – oh, Durban July.
