AKA: Alleged Assassins Reportedly Paid Hours Before The Hit

The revelations in the AKA murder case continue following the arrest of several suspects, with the latest tea being that those who killed him were paid just hours before the deed.

Kiernan “AKA” Forbes was murdered on February 10 last year, sending shockwaves across not just South Africa but the African music universe.

He had just had a good time at Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban in the company of his friends and associates, as well as his former manager Tebello “Tibz” Mostsoane. When he stepped out, the assassins closed in on him and shot him at point-blank range. Thus ended a brilliant rap career.

An investigation was opened into the case soon after. Initially, scepticism had given way to a semblance of hope after the police arrested suspects in relation to the case.

Allegedly, the coordinator of the assassination was paid R800k for the job just hours before the hit.

The said sum was paid into the First National Bank (FNB) account of one of the suspects, Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni, at about 2 pm on February 10, 2023. Hours later, the assassination itself was carried out on the streets.

The assassins reportedly followed AKA in different cars until the deed was done. It remains to be seen how the case ends.
