Mzansi and SA Hip Hop lovers scream “bias” as AKA is posthumously crowned MTV’s Hottest MC of 2023.
Late rapper AKA has an amazing musical journey and amassed fans all over the country and the world. However, he did not top the list of MTV’s Hottest MCs. Sadly, on February 10, the “Fela In Versace” star was shot dead while leaving his birthday dinner in Durban.
The country has since mourned his passing, but they have yet to come to terms with it. Even in death, AKA has been killing it, hitting new milestones with his music and winning highly coveted awards. The recently released MTV’s Hottest MCs of 2023 saw him at the top of the list. The list also included Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Maglera Doe Boy, and K.O.
MTV shared a post that read, “Congratulations to SUPA MEGA, @akaworldwide, for being this year’s #HottestMC shoutout to him for being the legend and superstar that he was.”
However, fans were not impressed by it. They criticized the people behind the list for waiting until he died to name him the hottest emcee despite his incredible talent. Some fans accused the people who compiled the list of being biased. Check the post out here.
