AKA Okays #TheBraaiShowWithCass But Legal Battle Continues

The Braai Show with Cassper Nyovest, which goes by the hashtag #TheBraaiShowWithCass, will be broadcast as earlier planned by SABC-1.

AKA recently gave the show the go-ahead after initially filing legal papers to stop it, claiming he owns a 50 per cent stake in the show and wasn’t informed before Cassper Nyovest was picked as the host for the second season.

AKA and Cassper Nyovest are not friends, so, understandably, he should kick against his rival taking over the show from him at the outset.

He may have allowed the show to be broadcast as scheduled this September. Still, the legal battle between him, Cake Media (executive producers of the show), and Makhuducom Media (which reportedly came up with the show’s idea, according to Cake Media), is not over.

A statement released by AKA’s management company, The T Effect, indicated that the rapper was negotiating with other parties for an amicable resolution of the problem but that his demands were not met. AKA had reportedly demanded R5 million in settlement.

According to The T Effect, the disagreement notwithstanding, AKA encourages South Africans to watch the show. So it would benefit him, although his rival Cassper would be the host this time.
