AKA: SAPS Recovers Cellphone Data and Video Footage From the Night He Was Murdered

SAPS has reportedly recovered cellphone data and video footage from the night AKA was murdered.

On February 10, news brother that SA Hip Hop star AKA was shot and killed outside a restaurant ahead of his performance at Yugo in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Fans were stunned and stormed social media with tributes.

The police have since been working to identify the killers and crack the case. A recent update shared by police minister Bheki Cele revealed that SAPS had identified vehicles and firearms used in the murder. He said,

“The vehicles have been located, people have been identified, and the firearm employed in the incident has also been recovered. Consequently, they are currently in pursuit of this specific individual and are nearing the resolution of this case.”

The South African also reports that police announced to the public that they have recovered the cellphone data and video footage from the night the “Lemons (Lemonade)” rapper was killed. They also stated they had found two eyewitnesses who had been taken into the police witness protection.

It has almost been a year since the rapper was killed. Fans, family members and close friends celebrated what would have been the rapper’s 36th birthday on 28 January.
