AKA Snags Double Nomination In DStv Content Creator Awards

AKA’s wins continue even in death. The recently assassinated rapper has just bagged the DStv Content Creator Awards nomination – a triumph, even though at the time of his death he didn’t care much for awards.

AKA was shot dead on February 10 – exactly 4 days to Valentine’s Day, when he was to have proposed to his then-girlfriend Nadia Nadia Nakai. He was in the company of some of his friends at the time, including his former manager, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, who was also killed with him.

AN assassin had crept close and shot him in the head at point-blank range. He never made it from the scene alive, sadly.

But what his recent nomination shows is that the songster might be gone but certainly not forgotten, and his legacy is pretty much alive and humming. The current nomination comes on the heels of previous posthumous nominations and wins.

In the DStv Content Creator Awards, AKA is nominated twice in the song of the year category for “Lemons (Lemonade),” a collaborative work with Nasty C and for his “Company” tune with KDDO. A work in his honour also scored a nomination for the award.

Well, thou shouldst be living at this hour Kiernan “AKA” Forbes.
