AKA’s Former Bodyguard Nabbed On Racketeering & Graft Charges

It is the sort of news that would have had AKA shaking his head and wondering what went wrong, but without interfering – leaving the authorities to do their job. That’s the news of the arrest of his former bodyguard Anwar Khan on graft charges.

Anwar Khan was among those who were arrested over the weekend on charges of tender fraud and corruption at the University of Fort Hare. he was reportedly part of a syndicate that bilked the institution of millions of rand via tender fraud.

Following his arrest alongside his alleged accomplices, he was taken to the Dimbaza Magistrates Court alongside the other accused who were arrested in different provinces.

Khan is known across South Africa for providing VIP security. In the course of his career, he has protected several important figures, including Kendrick Lamar, Oprah Winfrey, Alicia Keys, and Michael Jackson.

At home, though, he is more famous as the former bodyguard of AKA, who was slain in February last year just outside Wish Restaurant.

Well, in the current case, Khan’s company was reportedly contracted by the University of Fort Hare to provide VIP protection for some officials. How things went south is unclear, but he is facing charges of racketeering and fraud.
