AKA’s ‘Mass Country’ Is Spotify’s Second Most Streamed South African Album in 2023

AKA’s fourth studio album, “Mass Country,” has been crowned the second most streamed South African album in 2023 on Spotify.

We must confess that we are sad AKA is not here to witness all of the success his music has had this year. The country is proud of all the work he did. The famous emcee died on February 10 after getting shot while leaving his birthday dinner at a restaurant in Durban.

His management carried on with the release of his album “Mass Country,” which dropped on the 24th of the same month. Fans praised the album for its honesty, as AKA rapped about personal issues surrounding him and some of the struggles he has had.

The album also featured some big names, including Nasty C, his girlfriend Nadia Nakai, and more. According to recent reports, “Mass Country” has officially been crowned the second most streamed album on Spotify in 2023.

The album has reportedly raked in 30 million streams globally on the platform alone. It also becomes the third album by a South African Hip Hop solo artist to do this and the fastest album by a South African solo artist in history. We hear AKA might go on and break the record for the most streamed album by a South African rapper next year.
