It has been a season of agony for Lynn FOrbes, the mother of slain South African rapper AKA. It’s been hard trying to come to terms with the reality that she would no longer share an embrace with her son.
Kiernan “AKA” Forbes was murdered alongside his former manager Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane as he stepped outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban. A point-blank shot to the head and the songster collapsed on the streets in a pool of blood. Thus ended a brilliant rap career, leaving a nation in agony.
A storm of theories has been flying about as to who could have ordered the hit, and although a number of arrests have reportedly been made, the public is afraid that the police are not doing enough and might soon overlook the case entirely.
One woman who was devastated by AKA’s assassination is his mother, and she has been struggling mightily to come to terms with it all.
