Akon Defends Tekashi 6ix9ine For Snitching On His Buddies

Akon defends Tekashi 6ix9ine during a conversation with DJ Whoo Kid.

Veteran singer, Akon, spoke about American rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine who was sentenced last year. He stated that he understands why the rapper revealed his buddies.

Akon said in an interview:

With Tekashi it’s a little different because he comes from a generation that really didn’t have no moral ethic. I can’t really speak on why he would do that, but most likely it’s for the obvious reasons. But everyone goes through something in their lives that propels them to do things that they feel is in the best interest of themselves. And I think, you really can’t blame him, if what he’s saying is the truth.

The rainbow-haired rapper is out of prison and he is still singing the same tune and going a step further as he refers to the Brooklyn star as his ‘lil man.’

While speaking to DJ Whoo Kid on an Instagram Live session, Akon explained the reason he is defending 6ix9ine.

Akon said:

He had to literally decide, ‘What’s more valuable to me?’ My family or my future. You have to make a decision that’s going to better you.

Akon is of the opinion that snitching is viewed in different ways across generations and it no longer affects the youth the way it did in those days. If Akon or DJ Whoo Kid had ratted out on all their partners, their careers would have ended. With 6ix9ine being only twenty three, Akon believes that he has been given a second chance.
