Amaroto Duo Reece Madlisa & Zuma Splits

A group splitting is actually nothing novel. Around the world, groups come and go and the public simply nurses memories of them when they are no more. Of recent, though, South Africa has been in the news for the splitting among the groups in its music industry – the most recent being the amapiano band Amaroto.

Reece Madlisa and Zuma are the two friends behind the group Amaroto. Until they disbanded, they were inseparable as a team, dropping scorching tunes as well as featuring on the works of other artists, They also drop individual numbers now and then.

Before their split, rumours had hit the town that they were no longer together. Reece Madlisa seemingly gave a confirmation of the split when he announced his solo project titled “Kwaito Nama Medi” EP.

The project will have the likes of LuuDadeejay, ix40 & Classic Deep, Khanyisa Jaceni, Jabulile, Shuger, and Letso as guests.

Universal Music Group, the record label to which both were signed, confirmed the split while also noting that both singers are still under contract to Amaroto Entertainment and will release an album later this year. In the interim, they are pursuing solo projects.

The reasons for Amaroto’s split are unclear at this point.
