Andy Murray has won Australian Open battle against Nikoloz Basilashvili in Melbourne.

Tennis fans got exactly the show they were expecting during the recent Australian Open battle between Andy Murray and Nikoloz Basilashvili. Remember, Murray basically came from a 3-year retirement. He made a return to the same court where he was retired back in 2019.

It was indeed a memorable event as Tennis’ most popular names had gather to make a tribute video for him at the time. He had shared details of his hip issues and also announced that he was considering retiring from what had been a great part of his life. Alongside his fans, he looked forward to his surgery with hopes that he would make a return to the game after recovering.

Fortunately for all of us, that’s exactly what has happened. He’s back and in full form. Murray equally proved he hadn’t lost any of his magic and skill as he defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili in five sets to reach the second round of the Australian Open. The tennis star recorded his first victory in Melbourne in 5 years after 3 hours and 52 minutes of battling if out on the court (6-1 3-6 6-4 6-7 (5) 6-4).
