It was a close shave for media personality Anele Mdoda, but she’s alive to tell the tale. The media personality’s ankle had been run over by a car, but her sneakers partly saved her.
The scene was the OR Tambo Airport, and Anele Mdoda was wearing the Root of Fame sneakers released by Family Tree rapper Cassper Nyovest in collaboration with Drip Footwear. A car had run over her ankle.
Recalling the incident, she had described it as the most bizarre thing to have happened to her. Madness may have been the order of that day, but she’s pretty fine now, according to her.
Interestingly, the sneakers which the media personality credited with saving her ankle had provoked mixed reviews at the time of release.
Some fans had hailed Cassper Nyovest for his business acumen and foray into the world of shoemaking; some had scoffed at the design of the shoes, describing it as mediocre.
From the event at OR Tambo Airport, though, it is clear that Anele Mdoda might end up one of the big fans of the sneakers.
By the way, infamous for disparaging American singer Kelly Roland’s beauty, Anele Mdoda had been severely condemned by Americans after they found out about her comments on their idol.
