Anele Mdoda On British Stars Declining To Perform At King Charles’ Coronation

The news making the rounds that British stars have refused to perform at the coronation of their own king. Expectedly the news has grabbed global headlines. Imagine an event of global significance -something that should ordinarily see stars scrambling for a slot to perform – but British stars are shaking their heads at invitations to perform.

But that is the morbid reality on the ground right now. King Charles succeeded his mother to the throne when she died last year. However, even before he ascended the throne, he had lost many admirers over his treatment of his son Prince Harry.

But could that be the reason they all refused to perform at the ceremony? The likes of Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran and even Adele have all reportedly refused to perform at the ceremony which holds in many, and tweeps have been weighing in about their refusal. One of those who have shared their thoughts so far is South African media personality Anele Mdoda.

In a tweet on her verified Twitter channel, she noted how everyone appeared to have snubbed the King. Even the Spice Girls who would ordinarily have taken up any gig, said no to the King. It remains to be seen if the King will still get a nod from a British performer.
