Anele Tembe’s Father Reportedly Barred From AKA’s Funeral By The Forbes Family

AKA is dead and buried but the details about his death and what followed it continues to trickle into social media, the latest being that Moses Tembe, father of AKA’s late girlfriend Nelli Tembe, was not allowed to attend the rapper’s funeral.

AKA’s funeral was held on Saturday, February 18, a day after his memorial. It was said that Moses Tembe had reached out to AKA’s family to attend the slain musician’s funeral but his family did not give a nod to him coming.

The reason for this was said to have been the claim by the Tembe family through their lawyers that AKA killed their daughter (his then-girlfriend) Nelli Tembe. She had plunged to her death from the 10th floor of the Peppercup hotel, and AKA had mourned her for months and then moved on, starting a new relationship with Nadia Nakai.

AKA was killed with a point-blank shot to the head on February 10, just outside Wish Restaurant on Florida Road in Durban. Killed with him was his former manager Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

One of the prevailing narratives about AKA’s death was that Anele’s father had ordered the hit, But Moses Tembe denied the allegations, stating the family wouldn’t be involved in such an “abhorrent” act.
