Arthur Mafokate On Allegations He Received More Than R10m In NAC Funding

Kwaito veteran Arthur Mafokate has denied he received more than R10 million in funding from the National Arts Council, one of the departments in the ministry of arts and culture.

In a press rerelease, the songster dismissed as malicious and unfounded the allegations made against him, ultimately calling them misinformation campaigns.

The press release follows a statement by the NAC board that it has investigating the discrepancies in funding for artistes.

A source had claimed that Arthur Mafokate and his family received over R10 million from the NAC . another had claimed that companies or people linked to the kwaito star had easy access to NAC funds.

Chomee, one of the artistes previously signed to Arthur Mafokate’s 99 Records, had reportedly received R2 million from the NAC. But in an Instagram post, she dismissed it as lies. She did not release a formal statement regarding the allegations against her, unlike her former boss.

In part of the statement released, he had insisted that he has no affiliations with the previous or present board of NAC. You can check out his full statement below.
