Recall “Fetch Your Life” muso Prince Kaybee recently apologized to his fans for featuring Mampitsha, a gqom singer with records on assault, on his song “As’trende.” As a token of contrition he had even promised to give 50 percent of the profits from the song to assault victims.
Also, recently, Orlando Pirates star Thembinkosi Lorch was reported to have assaulted his girlfriend and even locked up briefly for it – and then granted bail in the sum of R2k. Prince Kaybee had wondered aloud why Lorch should assault her.
A fan was amused by Prince Kaybee’s take on the Lorch incident and asked him if he asked Mampintsha the same question when he brought him to the studio to record “As’Trende.”
Prince Kaybee commented that it is okay for the critic to have her moment and shine. He ended up saying he has the patience to take in a lot of insults without flinching, but that he detests it when people swear when they don’t have their way.
