There is palpable excitement among fans of South African singer Babes Wodumo after she popped online with a teaser – new music is on the way! The excitement is understandable, after all, it was said that she was critically ill at the time she announced an imminent new number.
From worrying over her health to the obvious indication that she is fine – the promise of new music –indeed, Mzansi is right to be excited.
Amid reports that she was ill, the “Gqom Queen” had taken to her official Instagram page, where she teased new music. In the clip she shared, she could be seen in a vehicle, driving herself and singing along the way. She looked pretty fresh. You can check out the video below.
The worry about Babes Wodumo’s health is understandable, and her coming out to indirectly dismiss the rumours of ill health should bury the rumours hovering around her. Just last year, on Christmas Eve, her husband Mampintsha had died from a minor stroke.
Not long after, his mother had died of illness as well. So all eyes are on Babes now to see that she is alright. And by her indirect admission, she is.
That leaves the door open for new music. We wait.
