Babes Wodumo’s Big Advice To Victims Of Abuse

Gqom queen Babes Wodumo has urged victims of abuse – or gender based violence, if you please – not to keep quiet but to speak up and speak out.

She made this clear during a sit-down with Sowetan Live.

According to Babes Wodumo, who recently gave birth to a child, victims should be clear about the cases of abuse, and not bury them, so that they can get helped and quickly, too.

Babes Wodumo herself has been a victim of abuse. Back in 2019, a Facebook Live video had circulated online showing Mampintsha abusing her. The video provoked outrage in South Africa, with many calling for the canceling of Mampintsha and banning of his music from the airwaves.

The case ended in court, where Mampintsha was granted bail. The pair made peace soon after and affirmed the new quiet when Babes decided to join Mampintsha in a new gqom hit featuring DJ Tira and CampMasters.

Working with Mampintsha after led several South Africans to cancel Babes Wodumo. Anyway, Babes stuck with her man. In fact, following her recent marriage to the West Ink boss, she made it clear she’s in a happy place.

What do you think of Babes Wodumo’s words victims of abuse should speak out?
